smartRenamer privacy policy

Last updated: October 30, 2026

Information collected by the app

smartRenamer does not collect or send file names, file contents, or usage activity to the developer’s server. No account is required. The app includes no advertising SDK, custom analytics SDK, or external crash-reporting SDK.

How files are used

To build new names, the app reads selected file names, timestamps, sizes, and metadata such as EXIF. Some features, including encoding conversion, list-based naming, and Quick Look, read file contents. Processing takes place on your Mac; files are not uploaded to the developer.

Normal renaming changes file names. Encoding or line-ending conversion changes file contents. Check the operation before executing it.

Records stored on your Mac

Saved settings, usage counts, purchase status, undo history, and execution logs are stored locally. History and logs may contain file names and locations needed to review or revert a run.

Some records may remain in macOS storage after the app is removed. Contact support for help with removal.

Purchases and TestFlight

Pro purchases are handled through Apple’s App Store. Apple handles payment information; the developer does not receive your credit card number. The app keeps the purchase status needed to confirm access.

TestFlight feedback and crash reports follow Apple’s systems and your settings. Review text and screenshots for personal information before sending feedback. See Apple’s privacy policy.

This website

This support website has no custom analytics or advertising scripts. Fonts, images, and examples are served from this site. The interactive name examples run in your browser and do not select or upload files.

The website is hosted on Vercel. Its provider may process IP addresses and access logs to deliver and secure the service. External destinations have their own privacy policies.

Contact and policy changes

Contact requests use Google Forms. Your reply email, message, and optional version details are stored in Google’s service and used to respond, investigate issues, and improve the product. No Google sign-in or file attachment is required. See Google’s privacy policy. The date on this page is updated when this policy changes.
